Washington Launches Master’s in Health Informatics and Health Information Management

MurphyThe University of Washington School of Public Health has launched a master’s program designed to develop senior leaders to manage electronic health records and health care data. The new Master of Health Informatics and Health Information Management is a two-year program designed for working professionals. Housed in the department of health services, it partners faculty from the School’s Health Informatics and Health Information Management program with faculty from the Executive Master of Health Administration program.

 

The first group of students features 16 men and 13 women ranging from about 23 years of age to more than 50, according to director and senior lecturer, Ms. Gretchen Murphy. Students come from a variety of fields, including health information management, business, and IT.
